This April, Africa Renewal University joyfully celebrated a milestone that speaks volumes of God’s faithfulness — 20 years of partnership with Cornerstone Church West Los Angeles.
What began as a shared vision to serve and uplift communities has grown into two decades of deep collaboration, transformative ministry, and enduring friendship. Together, we have built not just programs, but people empowering students, developing leaders, and expanding the reach of Christ-centered education across Uganda.
Gratitude for Generosity and Kingdom Impact
Through the generosity of Cornerstone Church, many impactful projects have been accomplished at AfRU over the years from academic initiatives to spiritual support and infrastructure development.
“We truly cannot thank you enough,” shared AfRU leadership during the recognition ceremony. “Our prayer is that God continues to bless you abundantly for all you’ve done and all you continue to do.”
A special certificate of appreciation was presented to commemorate this partnership, symbolizing the lives changed and the Kingdom impact made possible through this enduring collaboration.
Fellowship Through Sports and Service
As part of the celebration, our AfRU community enjoyed a vibrant sports day with Cornerstone Church. The day was filled with energy, laughter, and healthy competition, highlighting the joy of fellowship and teamwork.
In addition, the visiting team served alongside AfRU students and staff in several areas—ministering in chapel, facilitating workshops, and engaging in meaningful cross-cultural conversations. These moments reminded us that mission work is not just about doing it’s about being present, building trust, and walking together in faith.
Worship and Unity at AfRU Chapel
One of the most moving moments of the week was a joint chapel worship experience, where hearts united in praise, prayer, and testimony. Voices from both Uganda and the U.S. lifted songs and shared words that transcended borders echoing the very heart of AfRU: unity through Christ.
Looking Ahead: Together in Christ
This anniversary is not the end of a chapter, but the beginning of a new one. As AfRU and Cornerstone Church look toward the future, we remain excited about what God will continue to do through this partnership.
