Because Ability Should Never Be Limited by Affordability
Some students arrive at AfRU with a strong sense of calling but little financial support. They’re determined. They’ve come through a lot. And what they lack in money, they make up for in motivation.
We see you—and this is for you.
Our Need-Based Financial Aid program exists to support students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds but are ready to learn, serve, and grow.
Who This Is For
This type of support is intended for students who:
- Come from low-income or financially vulnerable households
- Are unable to meet tuition or basic living costs
- Show a commitment to giving back through community service or volunteering
Maybe you’re the first in your family to attend university. Maybe you’ve had to work through school to help at home. Whatever your story, this scholarship is meant to meet students in those real situations.
What It Can Cover
- Partial or full tuition support depending on need and availability
- In some cases, accommodation and meals may also be covered
Every case is considered individually and with compassion. We won’t ask for things you don’t have—but we will ask for honesty and clarity.
What You’ll Need to Apply
Here’s what we look at when reviewing applications:
- A Financial Declaration Letter, signed by your local authority or church leader (someone who knows your situation firsthand)
- A personal statement explaining your background, your current challenges, and why you believe AfRU is part of your journey
- Evidence of past service or volunteer involvement—either in your community, your church, or at school
You don’t need perfect grammar. You don’t need a long list of credentials. We’re just looking for your story—and your willingness to serve, grow, and lead.
