Learn, Serve, and Earn While You Study
Some students need a bit of extra support to stay in school. Others just want to contribute while gaining practical experience. The Work-Study Program at AfRU is built for both.
It’s a way to earn while you learn—to offset your tuition through meaningful part-time work in departments that keep the university running.
Where You Might Serve
Students in the Work-Study Program are placed in different departments based on need, skill, and availability. Some of the common areas include:
- The university library
- IT support services
- Administrative offices
- The kitchen and dining hall
- Campus maintenance and hospitality
The hours are structured so that your work never interferes with your class schedule. The goal is to support your education—not take away from it.
Who Can Apply
To be eligible, you must:
- Be a registered student in good academic standing
- Be able to demonstrate financial need
This program prioritizes students who are committed to their studies but need a financial bridge to make university sustainable.
What You Get in Return
- Stipends or fee discounts to help cover tuition or basic needs
- Real work experience in a professional setting
- A chance to build reliability, confidence, and service mindset
It’s not glamorous work—but it’s honest, purposeful, and often the thing that makes it possible for a student to stay enrolled.
