A Chapel to Remember: Wisdom and Worship with Mr. Sekaran Vallasamy

On February 27, 2025, the Africa Renewal University community was blessed to welcome Mr. Sekaran Vallasamy, CEO of Malaysia Furniture, as our guest speaker during chapel. With humility and insight, Mr. Vallasamy shared timeless wisdom on what it means to live a truly successful and God-honoring life.

Living for God’s Glory

In his message, Mr. Vallasamy emphasized that true success begins with living for God. He reminded students that everything we have our time, talents, resources, and opportunities has been entrusted to us for God’s glory and purpose.

“To whom much is given, much is expected,” he said, quoting Scripture.
This profound truth echoed through the auditorium, challenging each person to reflect on how they steward what God has given them.

Keys to a Life Well-Lived

Beyond faith, Mr. Vallasamy offered practical life principles rooted in integrity and discipline:

  • Timekeeping – valuing and managing our time wisely
  • Generosity – giving back to others with joy and purpose
  • Contentment – finding peace in God’s provision
  • Faithfulness & Diligence – being responsible with every task, big or small

His words resonated deeply with the students, many of whom are preparing to step into leadership roles in ministry, business, health, and education.

Worship That Stirred Hearts

The chapel session was filled with spirit-led worship, with students lifting their hands, hearts, and voices in surrender. The presence of God was tangible, and the joy in the room was a testimony to the spiritual hunger and unity that defines the AfRU community.

Conclusion: Called to Faithfulness

Mr. Vallasamy’s visit was more than a sermon it was a divine appointment. His message reminded us that success in God’s kingdom isn’t measured by status or possessions, but by faithfulness, purpose, and service.

As AfRU continues to raise servant leaders for Africa and the world, we are grateful for voices like his that challenge us to rise with excellence and humility.
