The Bachelor of Business Administration is a multi-disciplinary, three-year programme designed to equip students with knowledge, skills and attitudes that enable them become outstanding business leaders, managers and entrepreneurs who will not only meet but surpass the needs of the changing national and global business environment.

Programme Description

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to become exceptional business leaders, managers, and entrepreneurs. The program aims to prepare students to meet the dynamic demands of both national and global business environments. By integrating strategic research, mentorship, and rigorous academic training, students develop both practical and conceptual expertise in business administration.

The program’s curriculum blends general education courses with core business disciplines such as Accounting and Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management, and Entrepreneurship. In the final year, students have the option to specialize in one of the following areas:

  3. Human Resource Management
  4. Entrepreneurship
  5. Finance and Insurance

The BBA program is designed to prepare graduates who are not only competent in their business functions but also grounded in Christian values, allowing them to serve as transformative agents in the business world.

Programme Rationale

Businesses globally have experienced tremendous growth in recent times. Continuous economic growth and development have substantially contributed to business growth particularly in Uganda. This scenario calls for quality business education for developing human capital to meet the needs of various business entities.

Business Administration Programme is the discipline of choice to fullfil this initiative because it is central to an organization’s success. It focuses on the planning, mobilization and utilization of human, financial, and technological resources for the efficient achievement of organizational goals.

Emphasis on equipping business professionals with relevant business knowledge and skills, as well as integrity of character are the distinctive of this programme. It is prudent that business administration is manned by leaders who combine outstanding business knowledge and skills with integrity of character in order to handle emerging challenges and opportunities with authentic success.

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate a solid understanding of key business functions, including management, accounting, finance, marketing, economics, strategy, and business leadership.
  2. Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and address business challenges.
  3. Perform both basic and complex organizational tasks using appropriate technological and analytical tools.
  4. Communicate effectively in business settings, using various methods such as writing, speaking, listening, and reading.
  5. Employ strategic decision-making and leadership skills to recognize and seize business opportunities for growth and profitability.
  6. Examine personal and corporate values from a Christian worldview, ensuring ethical business practices.
  7. Cultivate healthy interpersonal relationships based on Christian values, fostering a positive work environment.
  8. Apply sound business principles to influence and contribute to the growth of Uganda’s economy.
  9. Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities in both national and global business contexts.
  10. Carry out business-related tasks with diligence, competence, and integrity.

Requirements for Direct Entry Scheme

  • For International Students:

    • A high school diploma or certificate that qualifies for admission to a degree program in your home country.

    For Ugandan Students:

    Direct Entry Scheme:

    • Uganda Certificate of Education (‘O’ Level) with a minimum of five (5) passes.
    • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (‘A’ Level) with a minimum of two principal passes (preferably Mathematics, Economics, or Entrepreneurship), obtained at the same sitting.
    • The minimum requirement for direct entry from the 8-4-4 system is a C+ or its equivalent from a Higher Education Certificate.

    Diploma Holders’ Entry Scheme:

    • A relevant diploma (with an upper second) or credit from an institution recognized by the National Council for Higher Education.

    Mature Age Entry Scheme:

    • A pass of 50% or higher in the Mature Age examination, obtained from a center recognized by the National Council for Higher Education.
