University can feel overwhelming sometimes. Questions about identity, purpose, relationships, and what comes next don’t always fit inside a classroom or a textbook. That’s why AfRU created a mentorship space that’s consistent, intentional, and life-shaping—week after week.
Every Tuesday, from noon to 1:00 PM, students across campus step into smaller, focused groups—not to study, but to talk. To listen. To ask honest questions. To think about life with people who’ve walked a little further ahead.
New students are given a proper welcome into what this university really stands for. Not just policies or routines, but the heart of AfRU—its values, its mission, and the kind of graduate it hopes to send into the world. Freshers reflect on their purpose for being here and start building habits that will carry them through the next few years.
This group dives into conversations that matter. Dating, sexuality, peer pressure, ambition, self-worth—nothing’s off the table. These aren’t lectures; they’re honest discussions led by trusted staff members who guide without judging. Every session ends by looking back at the bigger picture and asking, “What does God say about this?”
As graduation approaches, the tone shifts. Students preparing to leave AfRU sit down with professionals, business leaders, and alumni who’ve been in their shoes. They talk through real-world topics: how to network, how to start something from scratch, what employers look for, and how to hold on to your faith when you step into a new world.
There’s no secret formula. It works because it’s consistent. Because it’s safe. Because it’s not about having all the answers—it’s about having someone to walk with while you figure it out. And because students keep showing up. Week after week.
