Graduate studies at Africa Renewal University are about deepening your expertise, sharpening your thinking, and preparing to lead with purpose in your field and your community. If you're planning to apply for a Master's or Postgraduate Diploma program, here’s what to have in place:

General Requirements for All Applicants

To apply for a postgraduate program, you must:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution


  • Have a minimum CGPA of 2.8 (second class lower division or higher)


  • Submit official transcripts and certified academic documents


  • Provide two academic or professional references


  • Include a statement of purpose outlining your motivation and future goals


  • Complete the AfRU postgraduate application form

For Postgraduate Diploma Programs

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required
  • These programs are ideal if you’re looking to shift careers, gain teaching credentials, or bridge toward further graduate study

For Postgraduate Diploma Programs

  • Some postgraduate programs may have specific entry requirements based on the nature of the course. For example, a theology-related program may request a written statement of faith, or a business program may ask for proof of prior training or experience.

  • If your degree is from outside Uganda, allow time for equation and clearance through the relevant Ugandan bodies.
