Program Overview

The Bachelor of Public Health at Africa Renewal University is uniquely designed to address today’s global and local health challenges—including emerging diseases, health system gaps, and community wellness.

This four-year program equips students with specialized knowledge in disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, One Health, participatory public health approaches, and biosecurity. With a practical, Christ-centered approach, students graduate ready to improve health systems, advocate for effective policies, and promote holistic community well-being.

Course Structure

Year 1

Entry Requirements

Direct Entry

  • At least UCE 
  • UACE with 2 principal passes in relevant subjects or their equivalent
  • Kenya 8-4-4 system: C+ or equivalent, plus UCE & UACE equivalents accredited institutions.
  • Mature Age Entry Level: Designed for individuals aged 25 and above who may not meet standard entry requirements but have at least two years relevant work experience in the health secto

Diploma Entry

  • Diploma Holders: Should possess relevant diplomas in health-related fields such as biological or population sciences like statistics, demography, environmental health, biology, etc., from accredited institutions.

Mature Age Entry

Individuals aged 25 and above who may not meet standard entry requirements but have at least two years of relevant work experience in the health sector. These cannot be limited to, but similar to, clinical officers, social workers, sociologists, economists, child developers.

International Students

  • High school certificate that qualifies for university admission in your home country
  • Academic document assessment by NCHE or UNEB as needed
  • Proof of English proficiency (for non-English systems)
