
What You Need to Join Africa Renewal University
Getting into AfRU is about more than grades—it’s about potential, character, and readiness to grow. Whether you’re applying from within Uganda or across borders, here’s what you’ll need to begin your academic journey with us.
1. Direct Entry into Bachelor’s Degree Programs (Ugandan Applicants)
- Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least five (5) passes
- Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with at least two (2) principal passes
- If you studied under the 8-4-4 system (e.g., Kenya), you’ll need at least a C+ or its recognized equivalent
2. Mature Age Entry Scheme
For students aged 25 and above who may not meet direct entry requirements:
- A pass mark of 50% or above in the Mature Age Entry Exam, taken at a center recognized by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE)
3. Diploma Entry Route
You can also apply for a degree program if you’ve earned:
- A relevant Diploma with at least an Upper Second Class or Credit from an NCHE-recognized institution
- A Higher Education Certificate (HEC) with a minimum CGPA of 3.0
