Rev. Kasirivu is the chancellor and founder of Africa Renewal University. He holds a BA in Theology from East Africa School of Theology, Nairobi, Kenya and an MA- Global Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, CA, USA.
Jobra K. Mulumba (PhD)
Chairperson University Council
Dr. Mulumba serves as the chairperson of the university council at Africa Renewal University. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.), CPA, MBA, PhD. Accounting and Business/Management, Not for profit management.
Byamukama Vincent (PhD)
Ag. Vice Chancellor
Dr. Vincent Byamukama, currently serves as the Ag. Vice chancellor of Africa Renewal University. He holds a PhD in Organizational Leadership from Capital Seminary and Graduate School in PA, USA. He also holds a Master of Development Studies from Uganda Martyrs University and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Makerere University.
Dr. Dennis Kilama
Deputy Vice Chancellor
Dr. Denis Kilama serves as the Deputy Vice chancellor of Africa Renewal University. He earned a Bachelor of Social Work and Social Administration from Makerere University, a Master of Arts in Missions Studies from Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology, a Master of Arts in Humanitarian and Disaster Leadership from Wheaton College, and a Doctor of Ministry from Africa International University.
Associate Prof. Olutayo K. Osunsan (PhD)
Director School of Postgraduate Studies & Research.
Dr. Olutayo K. Osunsan serves as the Director School of Postgraduate studies and Research. He holds a Bachelor of International Business Administration, a Master of Business Administration (Human Resource) and a Doctor of Philosophy in Management Science (Business Management).
Dr. Mark D. Walugembe
Ag. Director Academic Affairs
Mark D. Walugembe is currently serves as the Acting Director of Academic Affairs. He holds a BSc with Education from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda, a Master of Arts degree in Leadership (Education) from Pan Africa Christian University in Nairobi, Kenya,
Mrs. Sylvia Naiga Mugema
Director finance
Mrs. Mugema serves as the Director of Finance at Africa Renewal University. She holds a Master of Science Degree in Accounting and Finance from Makerere University, a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) Degree from Makerere University, Uganda Diploma in Business studies from National College of Business Studies Nakawa, now Makerere University Business School
Mr. Samuel Richard Onyait
Director Quality Assurance
Mr. Onyait serves as the Director of Quality Assurance at Africa Renewal University. He is a PhD candidate in Theology/Missions at Alphacrucis University College, Sidney Australia, with a research interest on the role of the church in holistic community transformation /development.
Ms. Carolyn Iriet Namaja
Director Human Resources
Ms. Namaja currently serving as the Director Human Resources and Administration at Africa Renewal University. She holds an M.A. in Education Administration and Human Resource Development, Uganda Management Institution (UMI), an M.A. Comparative social work, Cavendish University, Uganda, a B. A Social Work and Social Administration, Uganda Christian University, Mukono).
Ps. Renson Kaluma Mwawasi
Director Community Life
Renson serves as Director of Community Life at Africa Renewal University. He is also the Chaplain of Africa Renewal University overseeing all the spiritual activities of the university. He is a PhD (Management) candidate at Mbarara University of Science and Technology. He holds a master’s degree in Business Administration International Business (Finance and Accounting).
Mrs. Joseline T. Atuhwera
Dean of Students
Mrs. Atuhwera serves as Dean of Students at Africa Renewal University. She also serves as University Events Coordinator and lectures in the department of Community Development and Public Health. She currently holds an MA in Public Health Leadership-Save the mothers, a Bachelor of Social Work and Social Administration from Uganda Christian University.

Jeff Atherstone
Founding Vice Chancellor
Jeff Atherstone was the founding Vice Chancellor and President of Africa Renewal University in Buloba, Uganda, from 2006-2015. Under his leadership, AfRU grew from a start-up Bible institute to an accredited Christian University on a 23-acre campus with over 25 undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs. Today Jeff serves as the Director of Donor Ministries for The Gospel Coalition.
Dr. David Fugoyo
2nd Vice Chancellor
Dr. David Fugoyo Baime was a second Vice Chancellor of Africa Renewal university. His term came to an end in 2022 and he is currently serving as an adjunct Professor in the school of postgraduate studies.
